THE BEALE HANDBOOK

Resources

Inventory domains, repositories, binaries, services, tools, and documents.

Explicit scope and discovered material

A workspace resource has a kind such as domain, repository, binary, service, tool, documentation, or other. At creation, select resources imported by the Research Kit and add the authorized material you intend to examine. The Resources view lets you inspect the catalog later.

Resources explicitly recorded as in scope or out of scope are different from ambient items discovered during a session. Discovery adds an item to the research inventory; it does not grant permission to test it. The research tool requests a scope review before substantive first touch of a newly discovered resource.

History and prior art

A resource can have saved public-history searches and source documents. Open Prior art from the resource to inspect saved search parameters, coverage, source records, and retrieval limits. A match needs applicability review; an empty search is not proof that a bug is novel.
