THE BEALE HANDBOOK

Plugins

Install skills and MCP servers, then enable them for the right workspaces.

Add and inspect

The Plugins area lists installed and available agent plugins. Add a plugin from a local filesystem directory or a Git repository, then inspect its source, version, skills, scripts, references, assets, MCP servers, warnings, and errors before installing or enabling it. Invalid plugins cannot be enabled.

Use the scope tabs to enable a plugin for all workspaces or a selected workspace. Some bundled plugins apply only to matching Research Kits. Settings also exposes optional agent feature plugins separately from the main Plugins area.

Trust boundary

A plugin can add model-facing skills and MCP tools, and may include scripts or server commands. Install only code you trust for the privileges of the Beale host. A workspace toggle controls where a plugin is available; it does not sandbox that plugin. Review the specific tools a session gains before running target work.

  1. Open Plugins and choose Add from Filesystem or Add from Git Repository.
  2. Inspect the plugin's skills, MCP servers, source, and any warnings.
  3. Install it and enable it only for the intended workspace scope.
  4. Start a new session to use the selected plugin set.
