THE BEALE HANDBOOK

Reports

Draft and review a coherent account of a finding and its evidence.

Create a reviewable document

Reports collect an investigation into a document that can be read outside the live session. The Reports area lists documents; opening one shows its content and summary. You can request an inline edit for selected lines through the report editing composer, change the report's triage status, and associate a submission packet file.

A report can link back to claims and evidence. Review the exact reproduction steps, affected revision, prerequisites, observed and expected behavior, impact, and limitations before using it for a program submission. The report is a draft until you have checked its evidence and program requirements yourself.

Practical workflow

  1. Open a report from the workspace or Reports area.
  2. Read the cited finding and evidence references, not just the prose summary.
  3. Use the inline edit control to request a focused change, then inspect the resulting document.
  4. Set its status and choose a submission packet when appropriate.
